Technology and Learning
Technology ("science of craft", from Greek τέχνη, techne, "art, skill, cunning of hand"; and -λογία, -logia) is the collection of techniques, skills, methods and processes used in the production of goods or services or in the accomplishment of objectives.
Strictly speaking, as you can see from the Wikipedia definition above, a technology is a tool.
Development of technologies goes back hundreds of thousands of years, beginning with the ability to control fire, then the invention of the wheel. Later, there came technologies devoted to agriculture, the printing press, the telephone, and later, the Internet, now, Artificial Intelligence! Today, when we hear the word "technology" we usually think of computers and the Internet - especially apps.
