Frank Gorshin portrayed the Riddler, an arch enemy who was crazy enough to give the dynamic duo a run for their money. In my opinion he came across as one of the most intelligent super foes. Frank did a wonderful job at his role and I will never forget his distinctive laugh, Frank was born in 1934 in Pittsburgh, PA . At the filming of Batman, he had already appeared in 18 major movies and had appearances on Star Trek,
Hawaii 5-O, and Combat. He was also a top notch impressionist playing the night club gigs. He was 30 years old when the bat cameras started rolling and was the shows first Villain
His
henchmistress was Jill

who was 24 at the time.

When I was first approached to play the Riddler, I thought it was a joke. Then,
I discovered the show had a good script an
d
agreed to do the role, but only on a show to
show
basis. Now I am in love with the character. I developed the Riddlers fiendish
laugh at Hollywood parties. I listened to myself laugh and discovered that the
funniest jokes brought out the high pitched giggle I use on the show. With
further study I came to realize that it wasn't so much how I laughed as what I
laughed at that created a sense of menace"

In The First Episode, The Riddler Traps Batman into thinking he is committing a crime to get Batman to arrest him and then he can turn around and ruin the caped crimefighter. Frank Gorshin is always supurb

Frank is still busy acting. In the photo on the left, he is with Adam West in 1966. On the right, 1997 on Back Chat. One of his his most recent roles is of Dr Fletcher in the 1995 movie 12 Monkeys.Frank is doing fine and lives in the Northeast, USA.
