Designing curriculum for the 21st century classroom is what we love most!   

Writing these curriculum units, while fun, is very time-consuming.  So we've decided to offer you a chance to use or adapt some of our favorite curriculum units. Every unit includes all disciplines, exceeds state and national standards, is project-based, research-oriented, has options for a global, collaborative classroom project, includes service learning, the arts and all 21st century skills.  Assessments are performance-based, for individuals, small groups and the whole class.

Financial Literacy - a First Grade Project $18.99

Two tasks facing first grade students are learning how to tell time and learning how to count money.  For many this means completing worksheets day after day involving the “counting” of “coins” and then writing down the amount.  Often these coins bear little resemblance to actual coins.  There is no relevance or connection to anything – just sheer memorization. Make this learning experience come alive in this project-based curriculum unit.  Not only will your students learn to count money quickly and painlessly, they will be highly motivated, will learn at higher levels, AND financial literacy skills will be built into the process.  This unit addresses all the disciplines/standards and teaches important 21st century skills.  Kids and parents will love what you are doing with your class!
