CML (Center for Media Literacy) recently formed an alliance
with GPN (Great Plains
National) at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln.
The Center for Media Literacy is a non-profit
organization established by Thoman "to encourage new ways of
thinking about television and other media and to develop
resources for teaching about the impact of media.
"Under Thoman's leadership, the Center has become the
largest publisher and distributor of media literacy teaching
materials. With innovative curriculum resources on topics
such as sexism in the media, how to watch the news,
parenting and television, challenging media violence and
tobacco and alcohol advertising, the Center's work has
