Differentiated Instruction
Differentiated instruction is simply a way to
design instruction that meets the needs of individual students. Students vary
in their abilities, strengths, talents, experiences, interests, knowledge
levels, skills levels, and their ways of thinking.
How do you meet the needs of each student in a
classroom? There are a number of factors that must be present when designing a
classroom, planning the curriculum and selecting methods of instruction that
will meet the needs of each student.
In this workshop you will learn specific
strategies, from designing the classroom environment to designing curriculum and
assessment that will meet the individual needs of your students and will help
them to exceed the standards.
You will learn:
-
How to create a classroom environment –
physical, emotional and academic – that support differentiated instruction
-
How to design curriculum based upon higher
order thinking skills, that is inquiry based, research oriented, rigorous,
relevant and real-world
-
What motivates students to achieve remarkable
results
-
Why you must raise your expectations and what
the results can be
-
Grouping strategies for students
-
How to differentiate the process, content and
product
-

strategies
